We have just returned from our 2 weeks holiday.

Our team has recharged their batteries, and in the words of our apprentice chef Nathan "I am ready to get back into it"

During our 2 weeks off we had all our rooves replaced.

The heatwaves have passed and now the overnight temperature is back to the normal 12 to 14 deg overnight (while Brisbane is round 24deg).

Won't be long until the fires are roaring again.

Today we released the new Summer Menu for 2016/2017.

Jesse has created a lighter menu to go with the warmer days.

Chilli & Lemon Squid $14

Local beetroot, goats cheese and pear salad $16

The IRA Chicken Burger and the Black Angus Steak burgers will remain and are great value at $18.

We have added a vegetarian pizza, if you are so inclined :)

The 300gm New England Porterhouse at $24 is a great meal.

The Triple Chocolate Tart and Lavender Creme Brulee are excellent

At Granite Belt Brewery we always have Gluten Free and Dairy Free options in our menu

I don't know how many times I wandered back to our house at Happy Valley Retreat and marvelled at the clarity and vastness of the stars above me.

We have purchased a telescope to better see the man on the moon, the rings of Saturn, Mars and so many more, and we want to share it with our guests.

There are a number of free apps which you can load to allow you to know what you are looking at (I don't know how many times I told my kids "that is the saucepan.... no wait... there it is... no wait...")

With these apps I am the knowledgeable legend they know me to be...
